Coming from a family of foodies, cooking was always an important and
frequent topic of discussion at our table. I first got inclined towards
cooking when I learnt it as an optional subject in my previous school.
While I always had a soft spot for it, during the COVID 19 lockdown I
took my time to thoroughly explore the field. I switched between
numerous cuisines from Indian to Chinese, Italian, Thai, Mexican and
took up baking as a therapeutic hobby. The smell of vanilla and sweet
baked goods gives me joy and the task of carefully measuring the
ingredients makes me focus like no other activity. I now cook at least
one dinner a week for my family, they have seen me go from burning
my first batch of macaroons to successfully baking them with their
perfect “feet”.
