Residence Time Distribution Study for LFR

Study of Residence time distribution for Laminar Flow Reactor with Pulse and Step Inputs to understand difference between theoretical and actual flow of atoms in a Laminar Flow Reactor
Globally, food waste has become an increasingly recognised environmental issue over the last decade. Not only has the issue of wasted food become an ethical one in a world where approximately 800 million people suffer from hunger, but the environmental impacts of producing food that is then discarded can no longer be overlooked. As population and urbanisation grows, more food is being produced and more food is being wasted. This report studies global food management, defining food waste management and the ill impacts or it being poorly done. The report looks into food waste management in India and field visit to waste management site of Dinshaw’s Nagpur

Distracted driving refers to any and all activities that might divert the driver’s attention away from the road. Some examples of this would be texting/talking to someone on the phone, eating and drinking, but even something as basic as tuning the radio is an example of distracted driving and is usually considered a traffic offense. Distracted driving is usually punished by fines, but in some cases the severity of punishments escalates to a short sentence. The way that distracted driving is treated is not unfounded, as reportedly about 15% of fatal and 14% of all reported motor crashes were caused by some type of distracted driving. Distracted Driving is dangerous because you put not only yourself, but everyone else on the road as well as in close proximity to it in danger.

I completed the 5 weeklong Inspirit AI Scholars Program conducted by Stanford, MIT and more, students and alumni. During the first 3 weeks, in a cohort of 10, we learnt how to code with Python and AI libraries, learnt Machine Learning concepts along with regression and classification, and understood Natural Language Processing, Computer vision and Neural Network. During this time I also conducted a presentation on ethics within AI specifically on gender bias. Taking inspiration from the incident wherein Amazon scrapped a secret AI recruiting tool that showed bias against women, carried out a discussion on whether AI really can be trusted with recruiting employees especially in a field with a pre-existing gender gap? During the next 2 weeks of the program, we were divided into a group of 5 and completed a mentor-led AI for Social Good project where the programming skills developed in the first 3 weeks was applied. Under the guidance of a Harvard graduate, I worked on a socially impactful project namely “Distracted Drivers” wherein we used computer vision, machine learning techniques including CNN and transfer learning to create and improve an effective model to improve road safety.
